My Spiritual Name Basantprem Kaur
Its amazing how only two weeks today I was preparing for my trip to Massachusetts for my first Yoga Therapy Training course. This was an introduction to determine if I felt like this was a good fit for me. I realized while participating in a 2 ½ hour meditation that this fit was not only good for me, but had already been showing up in how I teach my classes.
During my level two courses which will be complete March 4th, I noticed that since I began taking my level 2 training courses, I was referred to amongst my fellow teachers and peers as Basantprem. As you may have noticed that this is also my email address and the “other” name associated to on my Facebook page.
It only seems appropriate that I use my spiritual name at my studio. Only I know most people who are new to Kundalini Yoga, are unfamiliar with spiritual names and the reason for them so I thought I would share and provide a link if you are so inclined to dive into another level of yourself. Now please don’t feel you must call me Basantprem. Please stick with Angela if you feel called to my birth name. There is no pressure anyway.
The Spiritual Name: Your Heavenly Identity
“What is a spiritual name? Your spiritual name is your designated destiny, your heavenly identity. That’s all it is. You may or may not live to it, but its your guiding force. And it’s a prayer. When somebody called me “Yogiji”, It means “One who is united with the greater soul”. When somebody calls me “Bhajan” it means “A Divine Song.” And if somebody calls me “Harbhajan Singh,” it means “the lion who sings the Divine Song.” Its a prayer in the other man’s word. Its a calling. What is a prayer? It is a calling. That’s it. And you answer the calling. You get uplifted. Its a plus. It’s a way to get the other people’s blessings. That’s all. No big deal.”

My spiritual name “Basantprem Kaur” means “The lioness who walks in the love of God Consciousness like the fresh new energy of spring”. Now that’s a prayer.
So I have included both the schedule for March and the flyer for the 7 week curriculum for Emotional Balance. This class will be amazing. The only class cancellations is Friday March 30th for Good Friday. Class is still running on the Saturday of Easter. If you are away that weekend, you can make up any class during the week.
